Glyfada beach, located in the western part of the island is a blue-flag awarded organized beach and probably the most famous and cosmopolitan beach on the island, it’s easily accessible from Corfu town by car or by taxi and is ideal for families. Next to Glyfada beach, there is also another popular beach, Kontogialos, a golden sandy beach gently sloping in the sea. Also close to Glyfada beach, in case you need to enjoy some privacy, you shall try and swim in the crystal blue waters of Miriotissa, an unofficially recognized nudist beach.
A paradise for surfers and still untouched by tourism is Chalikounas beach, on the southwestern shore of Corfu. Worth mentioning is that it is easily accessible even to handicapped people as it has wheelchair ramps at certain strategic points.
Palaiokastritsa beach, the jewel of Corfu, set on several bays has beautiful hidden beaches worth exploring. An ideal choice for swimming in cool turquoise waters and among beautiful scenery, where you can enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving. Another beach worth visiting while in Palaiokastritsa is Paradise beach. Canal d’Amour beach in Sidari, despite being on the northern side of the island, are one of the most peculiar beaches on Corfu, in Canal d’Amour, you can swim through an archway of sand into the open sea.
Issos beach is another exceptionally beautiful beach with crystal clear shallow waters. Rovinia beach, a remote pebble beach close to the village of Liapades, very popular for your Instagram feed, is only reached by a hiking path since there are no bars or restaurants around.
Vitalades beach is a relatively less popular beach but one of the most beautiful beaches of Corfu, and can offer plenty of space to everyone although is about 37 km from Corfu town!
Another highly recommended day trip is a visit to Paxos island and Antipaxos, where you will visit some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, swimming in blue-green crystal waters and enjoying the Mediterranean sun.
If you prefer more secluded places then we highly recommend a day trip to Diapontia islands, a complex of 3 small beautiful islands, Othonoi, Erikoussa, and Mathraki, situated north of Corfu, a day full of lacy shores of turquoise waters, impressive geological formations, dense vegetation, picturesque trails and small settlements of stone houses.
